BASI Level 3 Coach

David started skiing at the relatively late age of 21 when he was taken to the top of Cairngorm and set away by his overly ambitious mother who expected him to ski down without any form of instruction whatsoever.

David started skiing at Sunderland when his daughter, Amy, followed the family passion and joined Polar Bears and then Tigers and Ravens Ski Clubs. David’s racing career ended abruptly when Amy became quicker than him at around the age of 5.

David qualified in 2012 as a BASI level 1 ski instructor and went on to complete his BASI level 2 in Hintertux in 2015. In 2017 he completed his BASI coaching qualification, as part of the level 3 award, and has since gone on to gain knowledge of coaching higher level skiers and course setting under the guidance of experienced coaches in the region.

Scott has been skiing since age 8 and teaching at Silksworth since 2014 after he qualified as a BASI Instructor

Following a number of years racing in the RAF Ski Championships Scott proudly won a bronze medal in the GS racing on the Zwolferkogel World Cup run in Hinterglemm
